We all want to find the perfect Christmas tree for our home at this festive time of year. And this tea cosy shares the tradition of visiting a Christmas tree farm to select the perfect Christmas tree and to merrily take it home to decorate.
This tea cosy will feature a little character during a very special Christmas moment, when he's selected his Christmas tree and he's taking it home. Thoughts will be running through his head about how lovely the tree is and how much nicer it is than last year's tree, and how people will love it as they sit gazing at it and its pretty lights and all the sparkly decorations that will be hung from the branches.
For over a century we have been bringing trees into the house for Christmas, so it seems a very fitting design to celebrate as a tea cosy.
The character is going to be dressed in a parker style coat to keep the cold winter weather out and I thought I'd give him some mittens to wear. Mittens always seem warmer then gloves.
He is pulling the Christmas tree behind him, over his shoulder. The tree is going to be the tricky part. The tree can't be too tall, because it will stick out too far and be too weighty, making the tea cosy a bit impractical. But the tree does need to be quite wide at the base, so when you're looking at the tea cosy from the front, you can see what is happening and the little story behind the cosy design. So you can see my conundrum, wide at the bottom implies a tall Christmas tree; which is just what I need to avoid.
If we forget the previously mentioned tricky bit, I think its going to an easy tea cosy to create. But more importantly; I think the design will make a super cute Christmas tea cosy.
