There are so many characters in Alice in Wonderland that I wanted to design more chocolate orange cosies, and for that I have had to make a Part 2 pattern.
Having finished the first four designs for Alice in Wonderland - Alice herself, the Dodo, the blue caterpillar and the white rabbit - I wanted to create a few more of the characters.
Alice bumps into so many people and animals on her travels, it was tricky trying to choose the next four. But I thought we should have the Queen of Hearts. She's a big personality in the book and quite terrifying and absolutely ridiculous at the same time. So I have chosen to make her.
I did have people ask me to design the Mad Hatter. Of course Johnny Depp really took ownership of this personality, but I want to keep away from that. I have tried to design my Mad Hatter on the description of him in the story. There is little said about his appearance, but it does say an oversized hat, and of course he is in a perpetual teatime so I thought an oversized cup in one hand and a saucer in the other.
I also want to do the Cheshire cat and the Facebook help group also wanted me to make the cat with a big toothy grin. I feel like there isn't much to go on for the Cheshire cat, so the design is a rough idea only and it might change and form organically.
Finally I really wanted to make an upside down flamingo, it appeals to my personality. So I have drawn a flamingo with it's legs in the air. Whilst researching, I found that you can actually buy crochet mallets of flamingos - how cute is that?
So on to the knitting!! See you in a couple of weeks when I pop back up the rabbit hole!
