I have been asked to knit man's best friend as a tea cosy, this time the breed is a springer spaniel.
So I have sketched my little springer spaniel so that his body is the main part of the tea cosy. I'll have him in a sitting pose, with his legs coming down in front of him. At the back, his tail will be on the 'ground'.
I know a lot of dogs love the smell of feet, so I thought it would be cute to give the springer spaniel a sock to hold, or maybe because it's so close to Christmas, it could even be a Christmas stocking? Either way I thought it would look rather sweet.
I love the way that dogs have sad faces, and I think in part it's due to their eyebrows. I have sketched in eyebrows to make my springer spaniel look sad or guilty - after all, no one wants soggy or holey socks.
I think the springer spaniel will be a fun tea cosy to knit and I think his ears will be knitted in the loopy stitch. If you're not familiar with this stich, there's a help video on Youtube Here...
