Who wouldn't be excited about a win on the bingo? I thought for the new year we'd have something fun, colourful and upbeat and this bingo lady tea cosy really ticks all the boxes.
The bingo lady is a colourful lady with big hair and big glasses. I love those vintage style glasses with the wings and I thought a classy lady like this would have super stylish specs.
I have got her with one arm raised waving her winning ticket - I think she's got a full house.
As a kid what I remember about Bingo is the bingo ball machine. All the bright and colourful balls would be pinging around inside a glass box and then one would randomly be sucked up the selection tube. I thought for a bit of fun that the bingo lady could have a few bingo balls pinging about her, and I thought it would be fun to use the numbers that they used to have saying for, "two fat ladies - 88" and "two little ducks - 22" and so on. I thought it would make people smile to remember.
I don't see any issues with the designing of the tea cosy. But I do wonder if she is wearing short sleeves? Showing off her bingo wings - might be a giggle.
Also I have discovered a wonderfully decorative knitting stitch that I thought I'd use for her jumper. It's always good to learn a new knitting stitch and I thought the bingo lady would be the idea place to use it. I'm sure you'll love it! And I'll make a little help video to show you how to do it, so it will be easy to master.
As always the colours I use can always be changed to suit your own tastes. But I think this tea cosy will be a great stash buster because there are lots of small amounts of different colours.
