The inspiration behind designing the Helicopter Tea Cosy stemmed from the unique and playful shape of teapots, which naturally lend themselves to imaginative designs.
Helicopters are undeniably cool, and I thought it would be great fun to incorporate this theme into a tea cosy. The idea of making sound effects while manoeuvring the teapot around the table adds an extra layer of enjoyment and playfulness to the tea-drinking experience.
I thought I'd have the helicopter sitting on grass, so the lower portion of the main cosy will be green so to give the impression of the helicopter up of the floor and standing on the landing skids.
The main part of the tea cosy will create the main part of the helicopter, which means that all of the other parts will need structural support. So I do foresee issues with the tail, the main rotary blade and the landing skids - so pretty much most of it then. But it will be worth all the challenges just to have a really cool tea cosy.
I really want to make the little wheel that is the tail rotor. I just love that it looks like a little hamster wheel inside the tail. of course that does mean I need to create a hole in the tail, which might compromise the structure, so I shall see how that goes.
By combining the functionality of a tea cosy with the delightful and dynamic theme of a helicopter, this design aims to bring a smile to your face and make tea time even more enjoyable.
