I have joined the March Knitting Challenge with Versus Arthritis. It's a fundraising knitting challenge to help the charity to help people with Arthritis.
The knitting challenge is set by the fundraiser, so really you can do anything that you would like to do, and you have a Facebook fundraising page so that people can sponsor you. My page is here...
For my March Knitting Challenge I thought I'd design a March Hare tea cosy. I thought a hare would be cute and it connects to the challenge nicely with the 'March' theme, and of course he'll be a lovely tea cosy for April with Easter that month.
So my tea cosy will have a big brown hare on it, sitting upright listening and alert. I'd like to include his back legs and his fore legs. It's amazing just how long their forelegs are.
The only problem I see with this design is the back legs that will want to cover the spout and handle openings. Also the weight of the hare is on the front of the cosy, which might mean that the cosy slips round when you lift the teapot. I'll have to think about these things as I design it.
I thought as an incentive to sponsoring me that I would raffle off five copies of the March Hare Tea Cosy Knitting Pattern to 5 lovely people who sponsor me. The amount you sponsor me doesn't matter a jot, all donators will go into the prize draw. So if you would like to win a copy of the pattern, pop along to my page and and click the donate button.
