Description

This enchanting battery-powered candle holder draws its inspiration from the iconic Victorian lampposts, those ornate streetlamps that grace the old parts of towns, reminiscent of a bygone era of gas lamps and lamplighters. These elegant lampposts, often painted in dark shades, have become symbols of nostalgia and charm.

A Victorian lamppost makes for a perfect Christmas decoration, whether as a centrepiece on your table or with wintery figures gathered beneath it. Their association with Christmas is likely influenced by Charles Dickens' timeless story, 'A Christmas Carol,' and their frequent appearances on traditional Christmas cards and in classic holiday movies. Whatever the reason, Victorian lampposts exude a festive, magical ambiance.

Standing at an impressive 79cm tall, this lamppost's main post is ingeniously supported by a wooden spare loo roll holder, one of the tall 50cm ones. The 'glass' shade is creatively crafted from a cut-down plastic 2-litre fizzy pop bottle.

The primary parts of the lamppost are knitted using double-thickness double knitting yarn, allowing the project to come together quickly. the main post is knitted in cable, to give a lovely twisted effect. The wreath adorning the front adds a Christmas touch, knitted in two shades of green to provide depth and dimension.

The top of the lamp can be easily removed to access the inside, where you can place and operate a battery-powered candle. This feature allows for a soft, warm glow that feels wonderfully festive and inviting.
