Description

The pelican tea cosy was inspired by this unusual sea bird. I think what I find most intriguing about pelicans is the pouch in the bills.

This sea bird inspired tea cosy is knitted in mainly White DK yarn with a few black under feathers at the tips of his wings.

He has a pink beak and a yellow pouch hanging below and his beady eyes are keenly looking for a snack it can gobble up.

The Pelican is in a seated position and you can just see his webbed feet peeping out from under him.

He's a lovely tea cosy to knit, and being white he feels fresh and summery. He would be perfect living on a teapot by the sea.

The Pelican Tea Cosy captures the essence of seabird grace in cosy stitches.

This Tea Cosy:

  • is made from double thickness yarn for extra insulation
  • fits a medium sized teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints
