Grey Wizard Tea Cosy Tea Cosy

I was sent a photo and asked to design a tea cosy to match the photo and the photo was of an old grey wizard.

The tricky part of this design wasn't the wizard, it was the structure inside the main part of the cosy to make the tea cosy fit the unusual shaped teapot. It wasn't a Price and Kensington teapot, it was a metal teapot with the knob to one side of the top. I made some internal structure so that he wouldn't be a wonky wizard.

The bead and hair are knitted in the loop stitch and then cut and unravelled, and I love the way it looks, it's like a wiry old beard.

The wizard is holding a staff that is supported by a bamboo knitting needle to keep it upright.

It's a lovely tea cosy and perfect for people who really love wizards - Magic!
