Strawberry Patch Tea Cosy Knitting Pattern

The Strawberry Patch tea cosy was designed for the Simply Knitting Magazine issue 240 which went on sale on the 13th July 2023.

I love gardening and one thing we grow each year are strawberry plants. They are so bright and cheerful and taste so scrummy. The perfect snack when you're busy gardening. Our little strawberry patch at home was the inspiration for the strawberry patch tea cosy.

The main cosy is knitted in garter stitch and looks thick and chunky, it's perfect for keeping the teapot hot.

The leaves are knitted and arranged together in groups of three and then strawberries are knitted and allowed to hang, just like they do on a real plant.

Then sweet little white flowers are knitted and sewn to the tea cosy as the final flourish of detail. I love the strawberry flowers, they are so simple and delicate and they give the promise of the sweet fruits to follow.

This is a wonderful summery tea cosy and perfect for gardeners, strawberry lovers and people who enjoy the tennis.

The knitting pattern includes instructions to make a medium sized tea cosy and a mini sized tea cosy, two patterns in one. However if you order the ready knitted tea cosy, you will receive only the medium sized tea cosy.
