Description

I don't mean to blow my own trumpet, but I'm loving the sousaphone brass band man. I was thinking Christmas thoughts and remembering the Salvation Army playing carols in the street when I was inspired to make a brass band member style tea cosy. I hadn't heard of a sousaphone, but I knew I wanted my band member with a brass instrument that he would wear. When I researched, I discovered the sousaphone and it fitted the bill perfectly.

The main part of the tea cosy is a man dressed smartly in a suit with a cap on his head. You can see his little cheeks all billowed out as he blows into the instrument.

The sousaphone wraps around the band member and the big bell of the instrument comes over his shoulder and just near his face. It's a monster of an instrument.

I wanted to give the cosy a Christmas feel so around the back I have given the composition a little robin and I think it makes it look very sweet.

The Sousaphone Brass Band Man tea cosy is a wonderful project to knit and feels Christmassy, and it's nice to have a Christmas tea cosy that is a bit unusual. Of course for some people who love brass bands or who play in band, it's much more of an all year cosy.

When you feeling brassed off you need a hot cup of tea.
