Big Ben Wine Bottle Cover and Knitting Pattern

The 'Bong' of Big Ben in London might make them think of the News at Ten, or they may be reminiscing of the ringing in the New Year, but now they can remind you that it's Wine O'clock.

Inspired by the iconic landmark in London, I thought it would be fun to design a wine bottle cover that looked like the famous clock and tower. The main cosy is knitted in DK yarn and unlike wine bottle bags, there is no bottom to the cover and no handles. Instead, there is a little hat-like topper to conceal the top of the bottle, this means that the cover can remain in place once the wine is opened and is in use.

There is a clock face on each side of the cover that it set to almost midnight. I thought this would be a good time to set it to for New Years Eve. But if you were knitting the cover yourself, each clock could have a different time - maybe the time of your wedding or birth, or the time you met your partner.

The cover fits an average shaped 75cl bottle making it great for almost any of your favourite wines. It also turns a bottle of wine into a great gift that is a bit unusual and of course the cover can be reused.

The Big Ben is perfect for people who love fine wine and London's cityscape.
