Jingle Bells Christmas Tea Cosy Knitting Pattern

The Jingle Bells tea cosy was designed for the Simply Knitting Magazine issue 230 which went on sale on the 11th October 2022.

Fair Isle patterns always feel so Christmassy and I love the repetition of little images; they look like wrapping paper. This tea cosy has some lovely Christmas theme images to embellish the tea cosy and a lot of them were inspired by nature.

At the bottom there is a band of holly and red berries, followed by Christmas robins, then there's a string of traditional, multi coloured fairy lights, that are followed by snowflakes, Christmas cracker ends and topped off with a row of Christmas trees.

The colour scheme was inspired by the colourful lights we used to have on our Christmas tree growing up. I still prefer the colourful lights now.

The tea cosy is fully lined and has a drawstring at the top that pulls the top of the cosy in. The drawstring ends have knitted sleigh bells that hang down for that extra Christmas touch.

It's such a lovely tea cosy that is is festive and super cosy, in fact, I hear that Mrs Claus is knitting herself one for Santa's teapot!
