The Peacock Coin Purse was designed for the Simply Knitting Magazine issue 213 which went on sale on the 22nd June 2021.

I love peacocks and I know lots of little girls love peacocks too, so I was inspired to design a peacock purse.

A peacock's big tail was perfect for the main shape of the purse because you need something round that fits the purse clasp.

Although the colour work looks complicated, its actually knitted in stripes and is super easy. You'll be amazed that you can create such a great effect that is so simple.

The body of the peacock is three dimensional, and he has legs that hang down adorably.

Just look at the inside - because it's knitted on slim knitting needles the knitting tension is tighter and prevents coins from trying to escape. No need for a fabric lining.

It's a super little knitting pattern and the purse is fun for adults who love peacocks and perfect for kids, as it doubles up as a little toy to play with on the way to the shops.
