Animated Tea Cosy

Description

This lovely prehistoric tea cosy is based on a Caveman. Human evolution is so interesting and I do have a fondness for our ascent ancestors. It's remarkable how like us they were even when they were just cavemen. I wanted to make a tea cosy to honor our collective heritage of the humble cave dwellers.

The Caveman tea cosy is wrapped in a lovely fur toga which is excellent for keeping the teapot hot as well as cavemen! The fluffy yarn is a super chunky yarn from Sirdar called Alpine, it comes in a range of colours, perfect for caveman fashion.

His hair isn't confined to his head and comes round and under his chin to create a bit of facial hair. I imaging that caveman hair would be all matted together a bit like dreadlocks, so the hair is quite thick and lumpy.

I wanted my cavelman to look more animal like than modern day human dressed up as a caveman, so I gave him ape like ears and a bulbous nose. I think these features make him look quite adorable.

He has overly long arms and in his hands he is carrying a spear that he has made. The spear head is knitted in silver to give it a carved flint stone look.

Peeping out from under his toga are his feet. His feet are again oversized a bit like a hobbit. I love his toes, I can't decide if he is sitting down or if he's standing straight and is just short.

The caveman tea cosy is a super tea cosy that oozes charm and personality.
