Description

The Robin Hood tea cosy is a knitted tribute to the Nottingham hero that robbed from the rich to give to the poor. A very worthwhile character to be immortalised as a tea cosy.

The Robin Hood tea cosy pulls on the old clichés of what Robin Hood might have looked like and the clothes he may have worn. I researched old movies of the legendry outlaw for inspiration.

The main part of the tea cosy has a pattern that looks like cable, but isn't cable. It gives the cosy an interesting texture and it's also a stretchy pattern so the cosy will still easily slide on the teapot.

In his hands Robin of Loxley is holding a bow and arrow; the arrow looks bent and twisted. Maybe Little John has been making the arrows from twisted hazel again!

Robin is wearing a classic castellated collar and a little cap with a feather in it. The colour pallet of his clothing is greens and browns, which would offer him camouflage in Nottingham forest.

On his back he's carrying a quiver holding extra arrows, in case he meets Nottingham's men and on his belt he carries a money bag, to carry the loot.

He's a lovely tea cosy and we all know the story and have watched the films and TV series, and we all share the heart-warming sentiment to share and give generously. So it's fabulous that there is a Robin hood tea cosy in the TeaCosyFolk collection.

Thanks to Robin Hood there will be hot tea for all the thirsty peasants!
