Octopus Tea Cosy Knitting Pattern

The Under the Sea Octopus tea cosy was designed for the Simply Knitting Magazine issue 226 went on sale on the 23rd June 2022.

The octopus tea cosy is spookily lifelike with his beady eyes watching you as you look for the handle and spout amongst all the tentacles.

He's knitted in just two shades of Stylecraft Special DK; Spice and Saffron. Whilst the main part of the cosy is knitted with double thickness yarn to keep the teapot really hot, the rest of the octopus is knitted with a single strand on 4.0mm knitting needles.

What is great is that you can get really creative with the legs and sew them into any position, but I think they look amazing curled up.

He's a fabulous tea cosy that your teatime guests will find gobsmacking, it really has impact and is a great centrepiece to the tea tray.

The perfect tea cosy for busy people who need a few extra arms to fit in more teatimes.
