Marie Curie Tea Cosy and Knitting Pattern

This tea cosy commemorates the remarkable accomplishments of Marie Curie. She was an extraordinary woman who discovered two elements and earned two Nobel prizes for her ground-breaking work. Marie Curie is most renowned for her research on radium, which has since been employed in cancer treatment, benefiting countless individuals.

The tea cosy itself is based on an old black and white photo of Marie holding up experiment flasks. Because the photo was black and white I used artistic licence for the colours. I imagine that the sample in the flask in glowing green and radioactive.

Her dress is a big full length affair that is adorned with daffodil heads around the skirt, and below is a the bottom of her undershirt in the same bright green as her scientific sample.

She's a lovely tea cosy that is fun to knit and looks fabulous. Perfect for for people who love strong women and strong tea.
