The Macaw Parrot Hanger was designed for the Simply Knitting Magazine issue 255 which goes on sale on the 5th September 2024.

If you love parrots the Macaw Parrot hanger is something to squark about. This cute knitted decoration for your home is like having a pet parrot without ruffling your feathers.

Perched on a 30cm bamboo ring, this sizeable bird is a vibrant and playful addition to any room, guaranteed to brighten up your space with its cheerful presence.

The main part of the birds body, tail and head is knitted in one part. The bird is then suspended in the hoop with some fishing line, with his feet resting on the lower part of the hoop.

He would be knitted in any parrot shades to make the perfect parrot for you.

4.00 mm, UK size 8 or US size 6 Knitting needles,
13g Stylecraft, Special DK Sunshine (1114)
23g Stylecraft, Special DK Lapis (1831)
4g Stylecraft, Special DK Cream (1005)
3g Stylecraft, Special DK Black (1002)
4g Stylecraft, Special DK Graphite (1063)
Stitch holder,
Scraps of yarn for marking,
1X Pair of 12mm black Safety Eyes,
30cm Bamboo Hoop - I bought mine from Ebay,
Stuffing,
