Ice Cream Van Tea Cosy and Knitting Pattern

Description

Picture your teapot transformed into an ice-cream van, complete with ice-cream seller and nostalgia. Whether you’re serving Earl Grey or mint chocolate chip, this cosy adds a dash of summer to your brew.

Inspired by the ice-cream vans and their tinkly jingles, I thought it would be fun to design a tea cosy homage to frozen delights.

The ice-cream van is knitted in lemon and pink and the 'cab' is on top of the main cosy. The cab has a recess window in it where the ice-cream seller stands to take your orders, and he is in the window ready and waiting. I think he's asking if you'd like a flake.

On the front of the cab there are two giant ice-cream cones on either side of the window screen.

The vehicle itself has four wheels, light details and bumpers.

It's such a summer inspired tea cosy. knitted in pretty colours and draws on happy nostalgic childhood memories.

The chimes of the ice-cream van means that tea is served!
