FAB Hot Water Bottle Cover and Knitting Pattern

The FAB hot water bottle cosy is a delightfully snug knit that wraps your hot water bottle in a design reminiscent of a FAB ice lolly. It’s the ideal gift for FAB folk who feel the cold.

My inspiration for this hot water bottle cover came partly from the shape of the bottle and partly from the love of those lovely retro ice lollies, you knit the ones that are a third strawberry, a third white and a third dipped in chocolate and covered in sprinkles.

After imagining the hot water bottle as a FAB lolly, I thought it would be really good to add 'UR FAB' to the lolly stick. I thought it would be so lovely to have a positive re-enforcement message on the cover, just as a little reminder for the owner to remember how special they are. Whether that be yourself or some else if you have gifted the cover.

The main cosy is knitted in Stylecraft Special Aran in the three main colours. The sprinkles on chocolate part of the ice lolly are embroidered on after knitting in random straight stitches, the sprinkles really set it off and give you the instant impression of the nations favourite FAB lolly.

The hot water bottle cover fits a 2Lt hot water bottle. The cover had an envelope opening so that you can get the bottle in and out for washing. And for easy filling, there is an opening at the spout, so you don't have to remove the cover for filling and emptying the bottle.

It's a fab hot water bottle cover, and the yarn feels so lovely on your feet and of course the cosy protect your feet from the hot bottle and help to retain the bottles' heat during the night to keep toes warm.
