Bouquet Hot Water Bottle Cover and Knitting Pattern

The Bouquet Hot Water Bottle Cover was designed for the Simply Knitting Magazine issue 247 which went on sale on the 25th January 2024.

I was thinking about Mothers day when I designed the bouquet hot water bottle cover. It's lovely to give flowers on Mothering Sunday, but it can also be quite cold in March, so I thought a nice floral cosy for Mum's hot water bottle would be the perfect combination.

The flower design on the cosy is worked in intarsia and the pattern is on both sides. The idea was that the hot water bottle would look like a bouquet of flowers, like the bouquets in the 80's where they were enclosed in polytene and had a colourful paper 'handle', that covered the stems.

The hot water bottle cosy had a hole for the neck of the bottle for easy access to fill and empty the bottle. There is also an envelope style opening to remove the cover for washing.

What's really lovely about the cosy, is the feel of it on bare feet when its all warm, that is the height of cosiness.
