School Teacher Tea Cosy and Knitting Pattern

Inspired by past school teachers, I thought it would be lovely to design a school teacher tea cosy. I based my design on primary school teachers.

What I remember about my primary school teachers is that they wore pretty dresses and blouses, so the school teacher tea cosy is wearing a flowery dress. The centre of the flowers are actually holes to show off parts of the teapot beneath.

The school teacher has an apple in one hand and a book in the other. Her hair is a simple style and it's kept out of the way with a hair slide. She is carrying a big bag. I imagine all school teachers to have big bags so that they can take the work books home to mark them. Behind her ear she has a trusty pencil to scribble notes in the pupils book.

At the back of her I have knitted her a little hamster. I remember as a child we had a school pet in the class, and I thought this school teacher should have a little pet too. However, I think he must have escaped from his cage!

It's a lovely tea cosy to knit and looks adorable on the teapot, it would look great in a school staff room.

The school teacher says, "Must try harder - Back to School!"

This Tea Cosy:

• is made from double thickness yarn for extra insulation
• fits a medium sized teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints
