Description

The Old Grey Wizard tea cosy is a tall upright tea cosy with a traditionally looking wizard in grey robes and overgrown beard.

As well as a robe, he is wearing a cape for extra warmth. On his head he has the typical wizards pointy hat that has bent over.

The wizard is carrying a stick-like staff that branches at the top and makes twiggy-looking finial. The twiggy bits are worked by casting on and off again in a similar method to King Charles's crown, but with more stitches.

The wizard tea cosy is easy to knit and looks amazing. The hair and beard is made using the loop stitch, but then each loop is cut and the fibres unravelled to create this unkempt, crimped look that is perfect for a wizard. Wizards are always depicted as a bit weatherworn and untidy and ever so slightly bonkers.

I do love the wizard tea cosy and I like that he looks a bit mysterious.

Perfect for people who love a bit of magic and wizardry.
