Animated Tea Cosy

Description

I love this classic Mexican style that we associate with the Day of the Dead festival. It's fun, bright and vibrant and so pretty with its emphasis on floral decoration. I also love the sentiment of the Day of the Dead, celebrating the lives of love ones that have passed and remembering them. What a wonderful way to spend All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

So I designed a tea cosy of a lady who is dressed up with vibrant colours in readiness for the celebrations. The main cosy is black to show off the other decorations and colours in the costume. The bottom of the dress has a big white frill, it makes the dress look floaty and feminine.

The lower edge of the dress is decorated with red roses. And further up the skirt is a lemon sash that hangs as a swag.

Her bodice is plain black which shows off the candle she is carrying. Behind her she is wearing a little cape which again has a deep frill.

Her hair is up in braids, and over her head is a row of brightly coloured flowers.

I have made her face to look like a sugar skull, with flowers over the eyes.

She is a beautiful tea cosy, very pretty and colourful. She really has wow factor and is a striking tea cosy.

When you're dying for a hot cup of tea.
