Animated Tea Cosy

Description

I was asked to knit a black and white Cocker Spaniel for a customer to give to a friend for Christmas. I was sent a photo of the family pet and asked to make a Cocker Spaniel tea cosy to look like the dog in the photo.

I used the Cocker Spaniel tea cosy knitting pattern for the main, and I used Stylecraft Special DK Charcoal with Cream DK to give the dogs coat that typical cocker spaniel coat effect. However, in doing that meant that I can to continue using these two strands of yarn for the head as well. Had I followed the pattern for the head I would have ended up with a dog with an oversized head, so a little bit of design work was needed to re-design the head to fit. But I think it worked a treat.

The spots on the dogs back, the white tip to his tail and the eye patch make this tea cosy very personal and make the cosy look just like the beloved pet.

You'd be barking mad not to love a Black and White Cocker Spaniel tea cosy!

A cocker spaniel tea cosy for Christmas - what a delight!

This Tea Cosy:

  • is made from double thickness yarn for extra insulation
  • fits a medium sized teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints
